The ancient Vedic sunrise/sunset fire ritual — offering ghee and rice to Agni with mantras, to purify the atmosphere and bring calm, clarity and wellbeing.
Performed by Certified Gurukul Scholars
Agnihotra (agni — fire, hotra — healing) is one of the simplest and oldest Vedic fire rituals, traditionally performed at sunrise and sunset. A small fire is kindled — classically in a copper vessel using dried cow-dung cakes — and, as the Agnihotra mantras are chanted at the exact moment of sunrise or sunset, offerings of ghee and unpolished rice are made into the flame. It is held to purify the surrounding atmosphere and to bring mental clarity, calm and positive energy to those present.
Families perform it to purify the home's atmosphere and energy; For calm, clarity of mind and relief from stress; As a simple, grounding daily or occasional spiritual practice.
Agnihotra is performed at the exact moment of sunrise or sunset — the timing is the heart of the ritual, not a chosen Muhurta. We fix the date and the correct local sunrise/sunset time during the consultation.
